Doppel Raises $70 Million to Advance AI-Native Social Engineering Defense

AI-native social engineering defense (SED) company Doppel has secured $70 million in Series C funding, bringing its total investment to $124 million and raising the company’s valuation to more than $600 million. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with continued support from prior institutional and angel investors.
Company Overview
Founded in 2022 and based in California, Doppel focuses on protecting organizations and individuals from phishing, impersonation, deepfake-enabled fraud, and coordinated social engineering campaigns.
Its platform uses AI-powered monitoring, unified intelligence, and automated attacker takedowns to address one of the fastest-growing categories of cyber threats.
How Doppel’s SED Platform Works
AI-Powered Threat Detection
Uses a real-time threat graph to correlate attacker behavior across email, messaging apps, social media, and other digital channels.
Identifies coordinated impersonation campaigns, synthetic personas, and deepfake-driven attacks.
Automated Response & Takedowns
Removes malicious infrastructure such as phishing domains, spoofed accounts, and fake profiles.
Reduces attacker dwell time and prevents large-scale spread.
Deepfake-Driven Training & Awareness
Conducts AI-generated simulation campaigns to strengthen employee detection skills.
Helps organizations prepare for increasingly realistic and multi-platform social engineering attempts.
Impact of the Series C Funding
Doppel plans to use its new capital to accelerate growth in several areas:
Product Innovation
Expanding detection models optimized for AI-boosted social engineering.
Enhancing simulation and training modules as adversarial AI becomes more prevalent.
Team Expansion
Continued hiring in engineering, product, sales, and marketing.
Follows a year in which the company more than doubled its workforce.
Customer Base and Market Penetration
Doppel currently serves:
Dozens of Fortune 500 enterprises
Over 200 organizations across industries including:
Energy & Utilities
Financial Services
Healthcare & Life Sciences
Industrial & Manufacturing
Media

Notable customers include Coinbase, Ramp, Commerce, and Orrick.
The Broader Significance
The rise of AI-powered social engineering marks a fundamental shift in cyber defense. Threat actors now deploy deepfakes, synthetic identities, and automated multi-platform attacks at scale. Traditional tools often miss these human-targeted threats.
Doppel’s rapid adoption and investor confidence signal a growing recognition that defending people—not just systems—is now an AI-driven challenge. As attackers scale up with automation, organizations must rely on platforms that can match that speed, intelligence, and precision.
